DynaMed

The Library & Knowledge Service has subscription to DynaMed, a clinician-focused tool designed to facilitate efficient and evidence-based patient care. Staff can access this tool without any password on the Trust networked computers. To access remotely you need OpenAthens account, if you don’t have openAthens account you can register now.

Access is now available via Cerner EPRYou can also access DynaMed anywhere, with online and offline via DynaMed app. contact us for more details

Key features

Updated Daily –New evidence is added to DynaMed multiple times each day, ensuring you always have the most current information.

Dynamed contains Micromedex Drug content, – Micromedex® evidence-based content is presented in concise, sourced, and referenced blocks of information to help you get answers quickly when the situation demands.

Dynamed provides UK guidelines including NICE – When you are using a point of care tool be assured that Dynamed publishes and monitors the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE)

Browse by Speciality – If you wish to look to a particular speciality/category then you can easily do so by clicking Browse by Speciality from the Dynamed homepage. 

Graphics and Images included – DynaMed contains more than 4,700 medical graphics and images to help clinicians answer clinical questions. More than 700 come from ACP. Images are searchable as well as embedded in relevant topics. DynaMed graphics and images include:

  • Tables
  • Clinical photos
  • Radiological imaging
  • Algorithms
  • Illustrations
  • Microscopic images

Overview and Recommendations section included – DynaMed topics include concise summaries and detailed recommendations based on the most current evidence.  Clinicians can view the Overviews & Recommendations section of DynaMed topics to get a quick summary of the topic and recommended actions based on the most current evidence. Clinicians can easily see the levels of evidence and guidelines behind each recommendation.

Mobile app – With the DynaMed app, you can use the tool everywhere you go. One-time authentication is easy. you can follow relevant content, earn and redeem CME and MOC credit, and email topics right from within the app.

Later this year, the West Middlesex Hospital Library will be relocating to a smaller space within the Diagnostic, Treatment and Education Centre (DTEC). As a result of this move, the library will be selling a large portion of its book stock.

Library Relocation: Print journal holdings available for free

 The Westmid Library will move to the new Diagnostic, Treatment and Education Centre (DTEC) building later this year. Because the new space is much smaller, we will be disposing of our print journal collection. Before that happens, we invite staff, teams, and departments to take any individual journals or entire sets from our holdings free of charge. For a complete list of available journals, please contact us. You are also welcome to visit the library in the Education Centre to browse our print collection. We are open Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Health & Wellbeing Collection

Our wellbeing collection has a range of self-help and mood-boosting-books for library members to borrow. Books includes:

  • Stress and Anxiety Management
  • Emotional Resilience
  • Meditation
  • Yoga, Pilates & Tai Chi
  • Healthy Eating

We also have a range of resources to help staff to relax and stay healthy, including on-going jigsaw puzzles, colouring books and colouring pencils to help staff to relax and de-stress, so feel free to pop in and do a bit of jigsaw and colouring.
