Library News & What’s new

Christmas Opening Hours

The Library will be closed from 25th Dec 2025– 1ST Jan 2026.Please note that swipe card access to the 24 hour section of the library will continue to be available at all times.

Changes to the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub

The NHS Knowledge and Library Hub (KLhub) is getting a fresh look from July 7 with a new and improved user interface. You will benefit from the improved search functionality with it remaining the single-best platform to browse, search and access eResources using your NHS OpenAthens account.

The new KLHub means that there are some changes that you should be aware of ahead of time.  From July any existing search alerts, custom folders and journal alerts which have been saved in MyEBSCO will no longer be available. This will affect items saved in the KLHub as well as EBSCOhost databases. Please contact library staff if you need advice on saving your searches in order to replicate them later.

ProQuest Databases

From July 1st the following ProQuest databases will no longer be available via NHS OpenAthens:

  • AMED, British Nursing Index (BNI), Health Research Premium Collection, PsycINFO and PsycARTICLES.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding these changes, please contact library staff.
