To compare the additional effects of high-intensity laser therapy (HILT) and extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT), combined with ulnar nerve gliding exercises (UNGE), on electrophysiological and functional outcomes in patients with post burn cubital tunnel syndrome (CuTS).

Emergency abdominal surgery (EAS) encompasses a broad spectrum of acute gastrointestinal conditions 1 and carries a fivefold higher mortality risk than elective surgery 2, resulting in increased healthcare costs and prolonged hospitalization. ³ Patients undergoing EAS often require postoperative mechanical ventilation (MV) because of respiratory impairment, surgical stress, and systemic complications. Time of weaning from MV is therefore essential, as delayed or failed weaning increases ICU stay, complications, and mortality.

In the article “The Effect of Vagus Nerve Stimulation on the Rehabilitation of Stroke: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis,” Arch Phys Med Rehabil; 2026 Sep;107(9):2553-66; doi: 10.1016/j.apmr.2026.01.009, by Min Yu, Shuna Wang, an error was found in Table 3. The sample size for the 30 Hz subgroup under the Fugl-Meyer Assessment–Upper Extremity (FMA-UE) outcome was incorrectly reported as n=184. The correct sample size is n=192. This was a data entry error.

Su et al. provide timely feasibility data on adding inspiratory muscle training (IMT) to preoperative rehabilitation for patients with knee osteoarthritis awaiting total knee arthroplasty.1 This practical intervention is clinically relevant. However, interpretation of the reported efficacy signal warrants clarification because the statistically significant improvement in estimated maximal oxygen consumption (V̇O₂max) was derived from a per-protocol analysis restricted to adherent participants.

Stroke remains a major cause of death and disability [1]. The primary stroke-induced deficit is motor impairment, including hemiparesis, restricted movement, and reduced mobility [2]. Acute muscle weakness and loss of voluntary control typically diminish walking speed, hallmarking post-stroke gait dysfunction [3]. Balance impairment affects 80% of patients [2], elevating fall risk and compromising quality of life, as evidenced by 70% experiencing home falls within one year post-stroke [4]. Consequently, more than 50% of stroke patients progress to mortality or functional dependence [5].

Shoulder pain is common, with a lifetime prevalence of approximately 67%, and contributes substantially to disability and healthcare utilization.1 Subacromial-subdeltoid(SASD) bursitis is a frequent cause, characterized by anterolateral pain, restricted range of motion(ROM), and functional impairment.2 Inflammation of the SASD bursa can contribute to impingement pain and reduced quality of life.3
