HIW

Health Information Week is a campaign promoting access to high-quality health information for patients and the public.

Health Information Week 2023 runs from the 3 July to 9 July 2023.

To celebrate the week, the library at WMUH site have a display with posters, books and useful information.

One of the themes is Mental Health & Wellbeing. Find the resources list which is available to download or pick up a copy from the library.

Another theme is Health Literacy Awareness. We are organising a virtual Health Literacy Awareness session on 5th July 2-3 pm.

The session will provide learners with a useful introduction to the concept of health literacy and how a low level of health literacy impacts the lives of patients. Contact us to find more information or to book the session.

The session will cover:

  • What is health literacy
  • The impact of poor health literacy on patients
  • To explore information resources which can assist patients with health-related
    enquiries
  • Be aware of tools and technique that can support patients with low health literacy
