Health Information Week is a national, multi-sector campaign promoting high-quality information for patients and the public.
High quality health information can have a huge impact on people’s ability to stay healthy and manage illnesses effectively, giving them a better quality of life. We have dedicated health & wellbeing zone in the library and provide wellbeing books and other wellbeing support resources.
Health Information Week 2025 runs from 20 Jan to 26 Jan 2025. To celebrate the week, the library at WMUH site have a display with posters, books and useful information.
This year there are five themes: winter health, mental health, wellbeing, digital literacy, and health literacy and misinformation. You can find more information each of themes below, with a link to useful resources.

As part of Health Information Week, the library service is running an hour-long online session on the theme of health literacy to raise awareness of this very important issue.
We are organising a virtual Health Literacy Awareness session on 22nd Jan at 2pm.
The session will provide learners with a useful introduction to the concept of health literacy and how a low level of health literacy impacts the lives of patients.
It will cover:
• What is health literacy
• The impact of poor health literacy on patients
• To explore information resources which can assist patients with health-related enquiries
• Be aware of tools and technique that can support patients with low health literacy
The session will take place on Teams on Wednesday 22 January from 2pm – 2:45pm.
To register for a place please email Chelwest.library.infoservice@nhs.net and we’ll send you a Teams link!
We are also linking up with Trust Health & Wellbeing team to participate during wellfest week ( Jan 2025) to hold a stand in the atrium to promote wellbeing resources.
