Different Strokes - is a charity for younger people who have had a stroke, mainly young adults. They offer information on access to leisure activities, counselling services and benefits and rights. You can contact them on their helpline: 0845 130 7172. It provides Information packs for childhood stroke, stroke survivor stories, aphasia friendly life after stroke information.

The patient, public and user involvement programme of the black country cardiovascular network have developed this booklet: Stroke – a new beginning, which contains stories of people who have had a stroke. It is designed for use by people who have had a stroke and their families and carers, to gain from the experiences, but can be equally valuable for professionals who work with stroke survivors, including younger stroke survivors.
