Buses 117 runs to the hospital from Staines via Feltham, Hounslow & Isleworth running every 20 minutes in peak times and every 30 minutes in off-peak times 267 stops outside the hospital 237 & 235 stop on London Road (5 minute walk down Amhurst Gardens to get to the hospital) H37 (via St. John's Road) stops on Twickenham Road (5 minute walk to get to the hospital)
Trains A South West Trains service to/from
Waterloo stops at
Syon Lane and Isleworth stations. The hospital is situated between the two stations (approximately 10 minute walk from either station). Trains run at 30 minute intervals during peak hours.
Tube The nearest
London Underground station is Hounslow East on the Piccadilly Line. 5 minute walk down
Kingsley Road to the nearest bus stop on
London Road, then take the 117, 237, 235 or H37. The tube station is approximately a 30-40 minute walk from the hospital.
From July to mid September, Christmas and Easter holidays the
Library closes at
5pm on Tuesday and Wednesday
The library is closed at the weekend. Entry swipe cards for evening and weekend access are available to all staff and students eligible to join the library.
Applications for an entry card should be made to the
Library at least 24 hours before it is required and valid ID, such as Trust name badges or College ID, will need to be presented.
Readers wishing to enrol with the library will need to come to the library to complete an enrolment form and should bring a valid form of identification with them. For people working for West Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust, Hounslow Primary Care Trust & West London Mental Health Trust this will be their trust identity badges.
Medical and nursing students on attachment with either of the trusts should present their college identification when joining the library. Overseas students and doctors should bring the letter confirming their period of attachment with the trust.
Local GP's and practice staff should provide an official document bearing the name and address of their practice when enrolling with the library.
There are 30 reader places for studying within the library (17 available 24 hours) along with 4 easy chairs (available 24 hours) for informal reading. There are 12 networked computer terminals (4 available 24 hours) available to readers within the library. There is a small study room (3-4 persons) with laptop facilities available for booking.
